Paris Part II with the next Mrs. Robinson

We made it to Paris and it was an adventure.  I don't have any photos because the Internet is so slow here.  If I figure it out I will post them tomorrow.  We got to the airport by taxi after trying by train.  The train accident yesterday in Amsterdam had everything jumbled.   Then as we boarded the train to Paris we discovered our tickets were for the train to Paris .... 2 hours ago.  Oh crap! Dave had to go retrieve the suitcases.   Judith ran to find the conductor.  He agreed to let us back on the train but we would have to stand for the 3 hour trip.  Afterwards we found two pull seats for the girls to sit.  Then about twenty minute later they moved us up to First Class.  "But no food or drink service for you!"  Okay Deal!!  so we got to ride in super comfy style the rest of the way to Paris.   Had a few drinks, played a little Uno, and just talked.  The trip went by quickly.  When we arrive, the rain stopped and sky turned blue. Dave's weather mojo is still working.   Hit the subway for a couple of stops and we found our apartment.  I have very nice pictures of everything if I can ever share them with you.   We are safe and sound and off to dinner to meet up with Cole and Judith's friends who live here in the city.  More later.

Ready to take the train to Paris

Judith needs a Starbucks before getting aboard
Here is our train on time...or so we think.
Damn.  WE MISSED OUR TRAIN WHICH WAS THREE HOURS EARLIER.  Judith claims the 5th but talks the conductor into letting us get aboard and ride in the baggage closet.  Notice the comfy seats behind them.
Cole and Dave decide to stand in the forward car and have a beer.
Then the girls lets us know that the conductor has allowed us to sit in the First Class cabin.

 Judith is redeemed.
Dave show the proper way to display a Heineken beer after the brewery tour from the previous day.
We all play some UNO to pass the time.  Dave wins hands down.
We cross into France and start to see small villages

Here we are finally at the Paris train station as the rains fall.

Cole checks the subway make to get us to our apartment
Just out of the subway and Dave's mojo has blue sky again to the delight of Judith.
At our Paris apartment #49 Rue Meslay.
Our view from the third floor.  This place has nothing on the kids views from their Leiden flat.
We meet up with some more of Cole's friends for dinner.  The boy has a good friend in every port!
 Diana's first dinner in Paris.
Cole and his good friend Jesse.  Who is from Atchison, Kansas of all places and knows Dave and Diana's good friends, Paul and Laurie Moccia's.  Small world.
Jesse and his girlfriend Harmony.  Their French came in very handy during dinner!
A quick stroll after dinner up to the Champs de elysee.

A group pose at our first Paris landmark, the Arc de Triomphe.  It is HUGE!   Jesse told us the circle around the Arc is very dangerous and no insurance company will cover you if your have a car accident here.

The kids decided to have a quick drink together before they all went their ways.  Dave and Diana decided to cab it back to the apartment and get ready for tomorrow.
